I got home from my teaching conference last night – it was so amazing! Events like that are so fun especially right before you start the year. It got me feeling super reenergized and ready to tackle another wonderful year of teaching. Today we just work 12-3pm to kind of ease back in after all of the conference stuff – my boss is the best.

I actually only ate fruit the entire time at the conference. It wasn’t on purpose, but I had packed a lot and it was what I ended up eating along with some fruit that was provided with the meals. I could never do full time “fruitarian” but I felt great and definitely still had enough energy to get my workouts in super early before all of our work stuff all day! I love fruit so of course it wasn’t hard by any means – one thing I did miss though? Chocolate.

This vegan brownie milkshake will bring all the boys (vegan and non-vegan) to the yard FOR SURE.

What’s your favorite kind of milkshake?!

When I was little I remember occasionally making them at home or getting them at ice cream places. I probably always went for chocolate, because, obviously. Actually now that I think of it, cookies and cream was always a good choice because of the chunks. Not a fan of that word, but there it is.

But now my milkshake standards are a little higher – so I made a vegan brownie milkshake that’s healthy, gluten free, naturally sweetened, that’s still so delicious and decadent. Plus this has a freaking brownie blended right into it for good measure (and for chunks).

These are so simple. The base is not actual milk (duh), but frozen bananas. If you’re a banana hater (*sheds tear), you won’t be able to taste it much with all the chocolatey brownie-ness happening, so no worries. Then just some cocoa powder, dates, a healthy brownie (you could totally use one of these heaven-sent squares), and some almond milk to bring it together!

Easy peasy, milkshake please-y.

Vegan Brownie Milkshake

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Yield: 1 milkshake


  • 1-2 frozen bananas
  • 1/4-1/2 c almond milk
  • 1 healthy vegan brownie to blend in/garnish
  • Dates to sweeten, if desired


  1. Blend bananas, almond milk, and brownie until thick.
  2. Add dates to sweeten and blend again, if desired.
  3. Garnish milkshake with another brownie and a cute straw.
